They say that you have your whole life to write your first album, and that doesn't seem to be far from truth for Indianapolis native, Justin Branam. His debut full length album, 'Words Worth Mentioning,' features songs written from age sixteen to his current age of twenty one, showcasing a rich mixture of child-like energy with the maturity of an adult in the making. In March, 2006, Branam left his home in the Circle City and headed to Nashville, TN to begin recording his debut with producer Andrew Osenga of the band Caedmon's Call. Together they began to put together an all star cast that comprised of some of Nashville's top musicians, even including members of the multi Grammy Award winning band, Jars of Clay. Turning their cheeks to the trend of over-production that plagues many modern albums, 'Words Worth Mentioning,' is an honest attempt to showcase raw talent recorded in the time frame of five days and often times with only a few takes. Although, only now releasing a freshman album, Justin Branam is no stranger to the road. Branam built his foundation by joining acts on the road such as Blessid Union of Souls, Mat Kearney, Matt Wertz, Mute Math, Dave Barnes, John Butler Trio, and others where he has gained a loyal following. This year, Branam will continue to do what got his feet off the ground. Watch for him in a city near you.
