In the studio, we love the risk of leaving the record light on just a little longer and walking off the map of the written song and into the eternal moments.

In the fall of 2010, we went into "Threshing Floor Studio" with our great friend Elijah Mosely, as our producer and a group of amazing friends as our band. In the studio, we had two goals. The first was to create an album of twelve beautifully crafted songs. The second was to step off the edge of the written songs and capture a double-disc album of spontaneous moments. We titled the album of twelve songs "On the Shores," because those songs were like standing on the edge of what happened in the studio. We titled the double disc album, "Endless Ocean, Bottomless Sea" because they are the moments that happened when we stepped off the shores and into the much more.

The songs of "On the Shores" truly became like a diving board to take us into the deep waters of "Endless Ocean, Bottomless Sea." As you listen, may you be taken beyond the music and experience the One whose love truly is an endless ocean and a bottomless sea.

To record the music of your life is in itself a gift, but to do it with your best friend and the love of your life is a gift beyond explanation. In the 11th year of our marriage, we decided to take the beautiful journey of recording an album together. In the years past, we have soared to the highest heights and traveled to deepest depths and in the end have collected these melodies that are some of the greatest treasures we possess. As songwriters, we write to express the language of our seasons to God and to man. We gladly give these songs to you-the listener, the worshipper-to pour your own heart over....May you find Him as consistently good as we have.

In the autumn of 2010 we moved the furniture out of our house and filled our home with instruments. We invited some incredible musicians, who also happen to be our dearest friends, to spend a week arranging, creating and dreaming into the new songs we had written. The following week, we took these songs into a studio called “Threshing Floor.” The music that we captured in those days is the sound of a family diving deep into the heart of love. At the helm of this grand adventure stood our fearless friend and producer who gave the next year of his life to carefully weave together the songs on this album. There is nothing like being surrounded by a group of friends who fight for your dreams. To have among those friends musicians, artists, and a producer, who all helped bring our hearts and songs alive, is an honor beyond words.

Our favorite part of writing music is how a song can become like a diving board taking you to the deep places. This album is really like being on the shores of what happened that week in the studio. "I wrote this song from a prayer of Brennan Manning in his book "The Furious Longing of God." The prayer is just five simple words: Abba, I belong to you. He tells you to take this prayer into a quiet place and with the rhythm of the your breathing inhale Abba and exhale I belong to you. As I began to pray this prayer the love of God began to wreck my heart. I realized that Jesus began a revolution with one word. When he said the word Father he changed everything. Now he has invited us into this reality, into this place of belonging. To call God our Daddy, our Papa, our Abba."

In the fall of 2007 Melissa and I went into the studio with the plan of tracking a new worship album, but the Lord hijacked our plans with his dream. When we thought the songs were coming to an end, Jesus walked through the walls of the studio and we realized the songs were just beginning. The songs that we thought would only last a few minutes turned into ten and fifteen minute experiences. At the end of those days in the studio we had collected two albums full of spontaneous and unplanned moments where heaven collided with our hearts. We released the albums later that year as "The Reward" and "Walk through the Walls." Within those two albums of extended worship are eleven songs that were forged and crafted in the eight years leading up to the moment the record light clicked on.

The songs were fashioned in a wilderness and found in the middle of storms. They are the songs of a journey. This year we decided to go back and collect the eleven songs from the extended moments of worship. We remixed and remastered them into beautiful and simple song length versions. I love the way a song can squeeze the beauty of eternity into a few minutes. This collection of songs tells the story of our journey. This is our long story short.

He will know me, play the harp, and have a voice like an angel." Since she was scheduled for a hysterectomy, she wondered how could this be true, but she touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was made whole. Thirty years later I was given the following dream. My mom and dad were standing with Melissa and I on the road that overlooks the field at "A Place for the Heart." All of a sudden the prophet walked up to us, and I asked him if he would pray for us. He spoke a few words and then breathed on us; as he did, I began to hear music coming out of heaven. Suddenly, our eyes were opened, and we began to see lights dancing in the field. He told us these lights were the angels. My dad and Melissa began to run though the field and play with the angels. As I walked into the field, suddenly I was lifted off the ground with the angels. While I was rising up, I looked back over my shoulder and saw my friend Elijah, who was seeing and hearing everything happening, standing in a field below. As I woke up from the dream, I knew my friend Elijah was to produce this new album, but I also knew that he represented the Spirit of Elijah. The last verse in the Old Testament says, "See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers." When the Spirit of Elijah rested upon Elisha, a double portion of miracles came forth from his life. When we began tracking "The Reward Session," we had planned on recording just one album. But the same Spirit rested on us, and a double portion was released. The Lord did so much in those days at the Threshing Floor studio that this album became the first of two volumes.

As we began the "The Reward Sessions" we had only planned on tracking one album, but Jesus hijacked our plan with His dream. When we thought the songs were coming to an end, Jesus walked through the walls of the studio and we realized the songs were just beginning. The songs that we thought would only last a few minutes turned into fifteen minute experiences. "The Reward Sessions" are the sounds of an experience with the One who is more real than walls we build around ourselves.

This collection of songs is from a journey my wife and I have been on for the last eight years. These songs were found in the middle of storms when it seemed God had left us, but then we suddenly realized He was right there in the boat with us. These songs were forged in a wilderness of suffering and in a battle against sickness. Just as Jehosephat's army sang in the middle of what seemed to be an impossible battle, these melodies have become our victory . We chose to close these two volumes with a track called "Amy's song". This song came in the middle of one of the most intense circumstances we have ever been a part of. Two of our closest friends lost their baby girl, Amy, before she came into this world. Months after she was gone, the Lord allowed me to hear Amy's song from heaven. I wept over the keys of our upright piano as I heard her song of hope coming from the streets of gold. The Father began "The Reward Sessions" singing that would never give up on us, and He closed them with heaven's song to never stop holding on.

In just one word from God's lips, an entire universe can lay hidden, just like a harvest can hide within a seed. But unless that seed falls to the ground and dies, its harvest will never be born.... Almost 30 years ago, my father was given a vision from God. The vision began with a beautiful woman in a red dress luring him into her apartment. Once he was inside, the doors suddenly locked and she changed into a hideous monster. The vision faded from the apartment to a peaceful picnic in the woods with my mother, my sisters and me around my father on a quilt. From the picnic basket, records began to fly out and go to nations all around the world. This vision was given to my father in the midst of several proposals from well-known music companies.

The interpretation of the vision was this: the woman in the red dress was a harlot, representing what the world calls "success." The family represented God's version of success, and in the midst of family, God would send music all over the earth. Just like a seed, my father let go of "success" and fell to the ground. As a seed sinks into the earth where the eyes of men can no longer see it, my father poured his life into his family and died to what the eyes of men treasured.

A few weeks ago I received an invitation to record a song for a ministry called 24/7 prayer (www.24/7prayer.com). The ministry is made up of an amazing army scattered around the globe who have been praying non-stop for over 7 years. They wanted the song to be put on a worship C.D. that will be sent to prayer rooms in over 50 nations. As we were recording, I suddenly recalled the picnic basket. I realized this song was a fulfillment of a word God had spoken almost 30 years ago, except now C.D.'s are flying out of the basket, not records! A verse in this song says, "I see a seed, but you see a harvest." Most men saw failure in my father's decision, but God saw success. Success isn't music flying out to nations, but my father and I being best friends, which is better than any record deal.

Most of you were able to join us at "The Awakening." This conference was greater than I could have dreamed. The greatest aspect of the of this time was the family and friendship that birthed this incredible time. Thank you so much for your friendship and the seeds you have planted into us. A harvest is awakening.
